The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that community empowerment is still in a transitional stage. Although several positive dynamics have emerged, such as the initial establishment of relationships between managers and the community, community involvement in several activities, and efforts in documentation and promotion, the empowerment process has not yet been fully participatory and remains limited to a core group. The study also identifies several inhibiting factors, including weak social networks among local actors, non-participatory and unsustainable mapping of local potential, the absence of an inclusive shared vision, elite-dominated decision-making processes, limitations in collectively designing and implementing activities, and inadequate documentation and evaluation practices. The strategic analysis shows that community empowerment in tourism village development is positioned in Quadrant I (Strength–Opportunities), which requires the implementation of an aggressive–progressive strategy by optimizing the internal strengths of the community to capitalize on external opportunities in a sustainable manner. This strategy includes strengthening collective capacity, expanding collaborative networks, utilizing policy and technological support, and reinforcing local institutions to promote sustainable empowerment and enhance the competitiveness of the tourism village.
Helmi Andriansah Thomas Bustomi Soleh Suryadi Copyright (c) 2026 ENDLESS: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FUTURE STUDIES https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2026-03-25 2026-03-25 9 2 1 13 10.54783/endlessjournal.v9i2.380 Artificial Intelligence in Archival Science: Enhancing Records Preservation, Retrieval Accuracy, and Knowledge Accessibility in the Digital Era https://endless-journal.com/index.php/endless/article/view/381
This study examines the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in archival science, with a particular focus on enhancing records preservation, retrieval accuracy, and knowledge accessibility in the digital era. Digitalization has become an important instrument in improving administrative efficiency, strengthening transparency, and increasing the responsiveness of public services in modern governance. However, alongside these developments, the implementation of digital governance has also generated new administrative complexities, including fragmented service systems, overlapping digital procedures, and increasing coordination challenges among government institutions. This study aims to analyze the paradox of digitalization in public governance, particularly the relationship between technological efficiency and the emergence of administrative complexity in bureaucratic systems. This study employs a qualitative approach by utilizing literature studies and various relevant academic sources related to digital governance and public administration transformation. The findings indicate that digitalization has significantly contributed to accelerating public service processes, improving administrative efficiency, and strengthening government responsiveness toward societal needs. Nevertheless, the implementation of digital governance has simultaneously created new bureaucratic complexities through the expansion of digital procedures, institutional fragmentation, and increasing dependence on technological systems. Therefore, the success of digital governance depends not only on technological adoption but also on the government’s ability to simplify administrative structures, strengthen institutional integration, and develop adaptive governance systems that remain efficient and sustainable.
Kurhayadi Iin Endah Setyawati Copyright (c) 2026 ENDLESS: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FUTURE STUDIES https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2026-05-14 2026-05-14 9 2 32 58 10.54783/endlessjournal.v9i2.383 Constitutionalism in the Post-Truth Era: Digital Disinformation, Political Polarization, and the Crisis of Constitutional Democracy https://endless-journal.com/index.php/endless/article/view/388
The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to communication patterns, information dissemination, and public involvement in democratic life. These changes have not only expanded public access to various information but also presented various new problems related to the increasing spread of inaccurate information, changes in people's political behavior, and the growing fragmentation of social views in the digital public sphere. These conditions pose increasingly complex challenges to the sustainability of constitutional democracy because they can affect the quality of public participation, the level of public trust in state institutions, and the stability of political life more broadly. This study aims to analyze the influence of developments in the digital environment on the sustainability of constitutional democracy, particularly those related to digital disinformation, political polarization, and the various challenges that arise in the post-truth era. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method through the utilization of various literature sources relevant to the research focus. The results show that the development of the digital environment has changed people's information consumption patterns and influenced how people form views on various political and social issues. The spread of inaccurate information and increasing political polarization affect the quality of public participation, social relations, and the level of trust in state institutions, which can affect the stability of democratic life. Therefore, strengthening constitutional democracy needs to be done by improving the quality of public participation, strengthening the capacity of state institutions, developing adaptive policies, and increasing public literacy in facing changes in the digital information environment.
Iskandar Syukur Copyright (c) 2026 ENDLESS: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FUTURE STUDIES https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2026-05-27 2026-05-27 9 2 59 82 10.54783/endlessjournal.v9i2.388 The Forgiveness Process Among Emerging Adult Women Survivors of Childhood Sexual Violence https://endless-journal.com/index.php/endless/article/view/391
This study aims to analyze the forgiveness process among emerging adult women who survived childhood sexual violence within the family environment. Intrafamilial sexual violence is a traumatic experience with long-term effects on survivors’ psychological functioning, particularly because the perpetrator is often a close person who should provide safety and protection. The impacts include anxiety, fear, prolonged trauma, difficulty trusting others, self-blame, and barriers to developing interpersonal relationships. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to gain an in-depth understanding of participants’ subjective experiences. Participants were selected using purposive sampling with the criteria of emerging adult women who had experienced childhood sexual violence perpetrated by close family members. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the forgiveness process is complex, gradual, and nonlinear. Most participants remained in the uncovering phase, characterized by dominant avoidance motivation and revenge motivation, whereas benevolence motivation had not developed optimally. Forgiveness was understood more as an effort toward self-healing and releasing emotional burden than as reconciliation with the perpetrator. Factors influencing this process included the severity of trauma, the relationship with the perpetrator, social support, religiosity, and the individual’s ability to make meaning of the traumatic experience. These findings underscore the importance of trauma-informed approaches in psychological interventions for survivors of intrafamilial sexual violence so that psychological recovery can occur in a more adaptive and sustainable manner.
Agustini Copyright (c) 2026 ENDLESS: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FUTURE STUDIES https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2026-06-27 2026-06-27 9 2 83 104 10.54783/endlessjournal.v9i2.391 The Trajectory of Electoral Democracy: Legality, Systems, and the Development of Indonesian Election Outcomes https://endless-journal.com/index.php/endless/article/view/392
Elections are a fundamental tool in a democratic system that serve to realize the rights of the people. This paper aims to examine the background and evolution of elections in Indonesia, including the legal basis, electoral system, organizing institutions, and election results over time. The approach used is a normative juridical approach with descriptive analysis of legislation and related scientific literature. The results of the discussion indicate that elections in Indonesia have experienced significant progress, starting from the 1955 election, which was considered the most democratic, then declining during the New Order era to become a tool for legitimizing power, until re-emerging as a competitive multiparty system after the 1998 reforms. Institutionally, the General Elections Commission (KPU), Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), and Elections Executive Board (DKPP) were designed as independent organizers, but still face integrity and capacity challenges. The implementation of an open proportional system and simultaneous elections brought democratic progress as well as new issues such as increased money politics and high technical burdens for election officials in the field. This paper recommends the need to strengthen election organizing institutions, reform the election system with a humanitarian perspective, and improve public political education to realize more transparent, accountable, and high-quality elections.
Muhammad Kevin Mulyawarman Muhammad Fasya Haifa Adi Gunawan GN Zulfiqri Elviandri Copyright (c) 2026 ENDLESS: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FUTURE STUDIES https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 2026-07-03 2026-07-03 9 2 105 115 10.54783/endlessjournal.v9i2.392
